Bobcat Aquatics
Bobcat Aquatics is a developmental program designed to incorporate basic swimming skills, improve swimming ability, and provide a fun atmosphere while improving cardiovascular and overall fitness. This program provides the skill level and resources to enable any swimmer to move to the next level both within the Bobcat Aquatics team as well as those swimmers who wish to swim year round, summer league, or high school.

Coaching Staff

Our coaching staff is comprised of five current and previous swim team members from the college. Katie Squires is an outstanding member of the Buckhannon Community and has been involved extensively with the local Splashers program during the summers. Katie is currently a sophomore and a previous swimmer at the college, and is majoring in Sports Management. Renee Marko is currently a sophomore swimmer at Wesleyan and is double majoring in English Writing and Elementary Education. She hails from Pittsburgh, PA and specializes in butterfly. Amanda Yeager is also a sophomore at the college and currently swimming on the team, her specialty is the breaststroke. Amanda comes to us from Pottstown, PA and is majoring in Marketing. Rob Doyle, in continuing the trend, is also a sophomore and specializes in the breaststroke and individual medley. He is currently swimming for Wesleyan and is majoring in Business and Marketing. Finally, rounding out the coaching staff is Sarah Beckett. She is a former Wesleyan swimmer from Parkersburg, WV and is majoring in Secondary Education with a General Science concentration.

Practice Times
We offer four practices per week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7pm to 8pm. The program runs from September to May, excluding local school and college vacations, and while the WVWC Swim Team is away at swim competitions.

Requirements
The coaches require as a rule of thumb a minimum age of 7, and the ability to swim one lap (25 yards) of the pool without stopping. There have been swimmers younger than seven participate previously but they must be able to swim one lap of the pool. Swimmers will be separated into lanes depending on their ability.

Cost
Payment is based on a $10 per week rate. Each month will vary somewhat in total payment due to school holidays canceling certain weeks of practice. However, we do ask that payments be paid on a monthly basis and on the first week of every month. This payment structure is designed for simplicity and to urge increased attendance, since swimming progress is affected by frequency. Please make checks payable to “Bobcat Aquatics- WVWC Swimming.”
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the WVWC swim office at 304-473-8507. An informational packet and registration forms are available at the WVWC swim office or at Bobcats practices.
